Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) can be performed as a da stay procedure at the same time as endoscopy. It involves injecting and elevating then removing mucosal lesions usings conventional gastroscope (for gastric lesions) or colonoscopy (for colonic lesions). EMR avoids the need for large invasive abdominal surgery, and is indicated for large mucosal lesions (such as polyps or early cancer).
